English Language Learner (ELL) Instructional Assistant
Flowing Wells seeks an English Language Learner Instructional Assistant to support students, collaborate with caring staff, and grow through ongoing professional development.
Salary:
$16.64 per hour - commensurate with experience

2026-2027 School Year
10 month position - 6.5 hours per day

General Information:
Provides support to English Language Learners.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess an Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or pass a formal state assessment such as Master Teacher's Para Educator Learning Network (Parapro test paid for and administered by the district).
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively with groups of English Language Learners within a limited time frame.
Willingness to attend conferences, in-service workshops, and classes to upgrade skills.
Ability to efficiently complete clerical tasks.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
Skills in time management.
Skills working with computer based programs, organizing electronic records, and completing electronic reports.
Essential Duties & Responsbilities:
Administers and scores language proficiency tests.
Manages all required paperwork for identification and monitoring English Language Learners.
Communicates with parents regarding student's program and progress.
Maintains individual records on each student's progress.
Facilitates software program for English Language Learners.
Works under the supervision of highly qualified teachers to support English Language Learners with reading, writing, grammar, oral language and vocabulary.
Maintains ELL instructional and assessment materials.
Collaborates with all appropriate personnel to monitor progress and document changes to be made in student's instructional program.
Attends faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, parent advisory council meetings, and department meetings on request.
Assists with cafeteria and playground supervision.
